New game: Internet Avenger

So for this Ludum Dare thing, maybe you've heard of it, you have to make a game in 48 or 72 hours (I chose 72) and the theme was YOU ARE THE VILLAIN. So what better villain to pick than Internet Explorer, champion of anti-competitive business back in the '90s.

In this game you basically travel back in time to destroy all other browsers (or six of them anyway). The platforming part is a little repetitive, but I'm pretty happy with how the boss battles turned out. The awesome music is from this guy who was giving out free music on reddit over the weekend.

You should totally go PLAY THE GAME NOW! And check out the other LD games too.

In less interesting news, I just got interviewed by this guy who's interviewing like a hundred people. Yep.

Help Internet Explorer take back the Web!

Ludum Dare continues, here's supervillain Internet Explorer going head-to-head with Safari in the jungle.

Internet Explorer vs. Safari

The theme for Ludum Dare is "You Are The Villain," if you haven't heard.

In my game, you play the role of supervillain Internet Explorer as you travel back in time to destroy the competition and take back the web.

Here's a shot of the first boss battle, versus Mosaic. All graphics done in MSPaint, by the way.

Just posting the template code I plan to use for this weekend's ludum dare. Most likely it won't be of use to anyone but I'm legally required to make it available. just to keep everything fair. download link here

but seriously DO LUDUM DARE it is awesome. Even if you make a shitty game just make ANYTHING.

FALLUMNS: Newgrounds edition

Hey, I polished up "Fallumns" from the zero hour game jam a few weeks ago and put it on the portal. You Can Play It Right Here.

New features include:
-smoother difficulty curve
-less annoying movement
-choose your own music - anything from the A.P.
-high score boards, both Mochi and Newgrounds
-6 sweet medals
-awesome full screen mode, thanks to Flash's cool new "full screen interactive"

So go check it out!

FALLUMNS: new(ish) game

EDIT/UPDATE: It's on Newgrounds now, CHECK IT OUT

FALLUMNS

Thanks to the magic of Daylight Savings Time and the 0hgame jam, I just made a game in NO TIME at all! You can play it right here on the dump.

Sure, it's missing some basic features like a preloader, sound, a high score board, and a smooth difficulty curve, but YOU try making a game in zero hours, it is not easy.

Thoughts on the game? I might polish it up and put it on the Portal sometime.

edit: I put in on Kongregate as-is because who cares about Kongregate. The Newgrounds release will be better.

edit #2: it's supposed to be a ONE player game. Two players kind of kills the experience, I think.

Just made a game in zero hours!

Turn out the lights, turn up the volume, and go full screen to experience this NEW game.

Seriously, you should check it out. We worked pretty hard over the last few weeks to get it done in time for Halloween.

New Halloween Game!

Super SOPA Bros, one of the shittiest and yet somehow most popular games I've ever made, just went over 1 million total views. Do the hundred dollars or so in ad revenue I've earned by profiting off this good cause make me a terrible person? Probably.

In slightly less mundane news, I've been working on a spooky Halloween game that should hopefully hit NG in about a week. And it's gonna have MEDALS so get ready to pee yourself with excitement.

1 Million.

ROB'S CABIN QUEST

48 hours ago, this game existed only in the minds of four ambitious game developers. Now it's REAL!

Take control of Rob, an adventurous boy dressed as a ninja on Halloween, as he attempts to rescue his family from various spooky monsters. It's like a cross between Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Binding of Isaac.

Big thanks to Team Pogostick for making this happen: Spudzy, Adam Bielgard, and xSakux. Add these guys to your Favorites, they're awesome!

If I could say one thing about this Game Jam, it's that 48 hours is really short. The 72 hour jams were pretty tight but this one was a last-minute crunch.

So check out Rob's Cabin Quest and all the great Game Jam 8 games!
